Utah House

If being environmentally conscious is as important to you as home ownership, then you’ll probably enjoy visiting the Utah House located at the Utah Botanical Center in Kaysville, just off Interstate 15. The Utah House is Utah State University Extension’s sustainable building demonstration and educational center whose mission is to educate and empower the public (and homeowners) about the many new methods being used to construct and upgrade homes while also promoting energy efficiency, healthy indoor environments, universal design principles, water conservation and the sustainable use of available resources. If you’re interested in accessing some of the resources available from the Utah House but can’t actually visit the facility, you can check their website to obtain informational materials pertaining to composting, energy conservation, water conservation, solar resources, and more. If you can visit in person, the facility is open Monday through Friday from 1-5pm and Saturday from 10am 1pm. There is a suggested donation of 2 to help maintain the facility and continue to offer its outreach, education, and innovations.
