Neighborhood Home Improvement Program

The Community Development Corporation of Utah (CDC) administers a low-interest loan program for homeowners in South Salt Lake. Loans up to $15,000 with interest rates ranging from 0% to approximately 7% are available to eligible applicants whose income is 80% of the area median income or less as defined by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. Zero interest deferred loans may be available for senior citizens and applicants with special needs or disabilities.

Loan funds can be used for repairs that correct health and safety problems, building code violations, general repairs, and improvements.

The CDC works with homeowners to inspect and evaluate repair needs, prepare specifications and secure bids for the project. Licensed and insured contractors are used to complete the work. In some instances homeowners can do some of the work for themselves.
